I came to Luxembourg for a production trip with smartengine by wtec, working at the incredible Luxembourg Airport (LUX). The airport was the reason for the trip, but a few free hours gave me the chance to see the city with a camera in hand.
I took the tram from the airport into Luxembourg City, walked, made photographs, and stopped for a glass of wine and a meal. A simple plan, and a very good way to spend the time.
A few hours in Luxembourg City
Luxembourg is an incredible city to explore on foot. Looking through these photographs, what stands out is how much changes from one frame to the next: rooftops across the valley, bridges above the trees, narrow streets, and paths tucked against old stone walls.
The wider views give you a sense of the city, but the smaller details deserve time too. Blossoms frame a bridge. A flower shop opens onto the sidewalk. Tables sit beneath striped awnings. Those are the photographs I like bringing home alongside the skyline.
A camera, a glass of wine, and a meal
With only a few hours, walking and taking photographs was enough. There was time to enjoy the city, sit down for a glass of wine and something to eat, and take in a place I had traveled to for work.
That is one of the things I appreciate about production on location. The assignment brings me somewhere, and sometimes there is a little room around it to explore. This gallery is from that time in Luxembourg City: the walk, the views, and the details along the way.
From airport production to travel photography
The work with smartengine by wtec brought me to LUX. The city gave me a reason to keep the camera out. I would happily come back with more time to walk and enjoy it.
